| Liposuction
Liposuction has broad applications in the art
of cosmetic plastic surgery. Fat deposits in the face, neck,
arms, back, flanks, abdomen, hips, thighs, and calves may be
treated with liposuction, if indicated and desired. Dr. Slatton
uses the tumescent liposuction technique. This involves the
infusion of a solution beneath the skin in the fat layer that
contains water, electrolytes, adrenaline, and a local
anesthetic. Liposuction cannulas of various sizes are used to
remove the excess fat. Liposuction may be performed as an
outpatient procedure or may require an overnight hospital stay
if a large amount of fat and fluid is removed. |
