Botox Injections for forehead wrinkles, frown lines, crow's feet Indianapolis, IN

Dr. David Slatton  has been performing Botox injections for his patients with since the year 2000.  His combined experience as a plastic surgeon and advanced knowledge of facial anatomy and facial muscle function makes him a skilled and knowledgeable physician who can treat areas of facial wrinkling well.

Botox or Botulinum toxin A is a substance that paralyzes the facial muscles that cause facial wrinkling associated with aging.  Its action is temporary—its lasts on average 4 months-but the results can be dramatic and very satisfying to patients.

Botox is a straightforward procedure that can smoothen and reduce wrinkles in areas of the upper face. The most common areas of treatment include the forehead, the glabellar furrow (the 2 vertical lines between the eyebrows, and the crow’s feet.  Improvement in eyebrow position can even be obtained when certain areas of the forehead are injected.

In the lower face, Botox can be used to improve the down turned corners of the mouth; and in the neck it can be used to improve the vertical bands of the neck (platysmal bands).

Excessive sweating can also be improved with Botox when it is injected into the armpit area.

Botox treatments are performed in our office. Best outcome occur when procedures are performed in a proper environment where good lighting and procedure rooms for such purposes exist.

Botox is not a “spa” treatment; nor is appropriate to inject Botox at a” party” where alcohol is served.    The chances of an inadequate result, drooping eyelid, or bruising are increased when Botox is given in such circumstances and not given in a medical office by a plastic surgeon.

Topical local anesthetic can be applied by the patient before their visit to the office.  This will take the edge off the sting of the injections and limit the waiting time in the office for the injections to be given.

Treatments with Dermal fillers such as Restylane, Radiesse, and Juvederm can be performed at the same time as Botox injections.

Down time is minimal is minimal after Botox.  Patients are encouraged to keep their head elevated for six hours after the procedure, and to avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after injections. It may take a few days to see the full results of Botox in the injected areas.

Treatments for botox are priced by the units of Botox given.

The benefits of Botox are numerous.  For many patients, it slows the process of facial aging by addressing fine lines and wrinkles and giving a more youthful and rested facial appearance.  Botox can be used as before and after other cosmetic plastic surgery procedures for the face and often augments the results obtained with such surgeries as facelifts, eyelid surgery and brow lifts.
